  1. Good morning to all .Just wondering is the calorifier the first port of call on the heating cicuit or can you put a rad or towel rail before the calorifier connections?

  3. Evening all is it nessesary to install diesel and water tank air vents through a fitting to outside or can you just install the vent and leave it inside attached to tank ?
  4. Fan belt was changed last year and has had little use,will take a photo of alt over the weekend ,engine is ford xld 416.
  5. alt bulb is lit with switch turned on robbo ,will check ignition switch and wiring tomorrow

Hi to all and thanks for replies to last problem ,any who this time its my alternator giving problems.On starting engine i use to have to rev engine a little once before alternator would kick in and red light go out,and for my ammeter and voltmeter and tacho to respond which i believe is normal.Now when engine starts no red light is on and all relative guages are not working even with a rev.have measured volts and only getting 12v, out of alternator ,all connections are ok on alt. basically it looks like alt has just stopped working all together, any ideas what may be the problem,....new alternator ?? is there a part in alt that can go ?? thanks Robbio
  7. Hi Tony ,I checked strainer after water loss,and have checked impeller and pipe work leading to heat exchanger.Its a xld 1600 and i think its a johnson pump,did notice however a busted screw holding on pump lid,could air increase be responsible ??

Hi all i am having a problem with raw water been expelled through exhaust,instead of a constant flow it spurts out say about every three seconds and this is not the norm,engine is running a little hotter than normal.I have traced good water flow to inlet on heat exchanger,i did hit a patch of weed just before this problem,could exchanger be blocked,??exhaust elbow maybe .any advice welcome.I do have video but cant seem to upload it .Thanks robbio c
  10. I have noticed bits of soot floating in water from exhaust, there was more than a few wisps of smoke,Will check out that full stop solenoid

Hi all here is my scenario,Boat wasn't starting as easily lately but put it down to cold weather,flattened old batteries trying to start it ,replaced with new starter battery ,engine is turning and seems like it wants to fire ,have removed two out of four glow plugs and tested and are fine ,voltage is reaching other two.Have fuel as far as injector pump,could it be a problem with injectors.Any help appreciated , by the way its a Ford xld 1600 Robbio c

  14. Hi there i fitted the exact product on to my cruiser during the summer and advise against it ,within a week it had warped off the walls ,and with the warm summer they didnt react good.

  16. Hi all ,I am about to paint epoxy and was looking for some advice, was thinking of using international 2 pack polyurethane paint.Also as far as i am aware the resin itself will sufice as primer . Is this true? any other tips and hints welcome. thanks

  18. evening all, as regards antifouling paint can it be used for painting decks etc or is it strictly for use below waterline?? Will it adhere to epoxy ??

  20. ok thanks guys, ye according to sea otter boats they don't have any anodes,but there already is a pear shaped anode on the z drive leg well eaten away.Will do a bit more research cheers
  21. Hi all long time no speak ,when fitting new anodes to alluminium z drive i presume you must fit alluminium anodes , is this correct? thanks

  25. Hi Matty me thinks it is a capacitor of some sort .Dont know where you would get one though .
