  1. I've sort of conquered the spider fear (as long as their legs aren't TOO thick! - yuk) But it's earwigs I'm having a problem with at the moment. Finding them everywhere and they are un-redeemably revolting creatures. After bashing in my cratch yesterday, I salvaged the 2 solar spotlights I'd had on the cratch front. What was stuffed behind each domed light attachment? A nest of the buggers - eeek!
  2. Hey, does anyone happen to know if there are any narrowboats on the River Taw? Cheers.

  7. Can I be in the WOMENSA?
  8. Blimey Les! I turn my back for 5 minutes and it's looking amazing!
  9. If someone is zooming past as though I wasn't there, I just don't bother turning round to wave as I usually do. No shouting at them or pulling faces. Today, I kept my eyes down on my washing up as a speed-freak shot past and he yelled out " Get a grip for fuck sake!" Ha! Insulted in my own home!

  17. Yes - hope the rain clears up for you! I really liked the Oxford canal - let us know what it's like going on to Reading please?

    Wasps

Wow - I LOVE that idea! Reminds me of a cyclist who was getting attacked by birds (think it was seagulls) every day on his way to work. He painted huge eyes on the top of his helmet as a deterrent . Dunno if it worked though!

    Wasps

I'm sure your cooking is delightful - to humans and wasps alike!

  21. Congratulations Les and Heidi on starting out on your exciting journey. As for roof colour, I've got a pale grey which I don't much like but which does seem to stay pretty cool compared to the deep blue of parts of the cabin sides. I've been considering repainting it the cream I have on parts of the cabin sides but reading the above comments has made me rethink! Truth is, once you've got your panels on and plants and all the paraphernalia people tell themselves they'll never have on their own roofs, there won't be a lot of colour to see!

    Wasps

Funnily enough, when I lived in France, I found that wasps were mostly drawn to meat - even more than to sweet things. Anyone having a barbeque always had a plague of wassups too. Are they being attracted to your cooking perhaps?
  23. I'll just slink away with my 'electrics afloat' book! It's got nice big pictures in....
  24. Thank you and thank you for your tact! So .... there's no way of creating a sort of loop system (going into a separate battery, to be used later), Can the turning propshaft generate energy separately (kinetic into potential?) (Should I stop digging now?!)
  25. Our government is screwing us out of £1.5 billion a year, on the war in Iraq. While we concentrate on people on benefits, we won't notice....
