Sad news. He ran the best chandlery and was always helpful. I fitted a new shell out utilising stuff from him and lots of equipment for other boats over the years.

Just done it. Velly interesting result 🤔 I fink somett is amiss but will not know till it's all been run through. Water pump and some lights still work from starter battery when it's switched on in cabin. The new leisure battery is running other lights and other stuff. I would have thought the water pump and lights should run off the interior leisure battery. Anyway we will further play later in week.

Great size and very comfy boat, it will be awesome. However the location is ludicrous. Buy the boat and put it somewhere such as the Trent downstream of Nottingham. Mercia is on a ditch suited to narrowbeam.

WEll we were not even on the lookout for one and went out with mates for a beer and lo and behold someone mentioned their mum in law was selling her old Talbot as she found it hard to drive as she was used to a modern car. Long story short it happens to have only done 60k in 32 years by three owners and is in brilliant completely damp free condition. Toured France last summer. She had had power steering and reversing cameras and such all retro fitted. Anyway its now mine and runs well, even the brakes are brilliant!!. Been stood since return from France and just going through all the stuff so far it all works but obs the battery being duff limits what I can complete. Battery coming tomorrow morning I am already booked in at my old mooring at The Pig place in july. Yes, I checked it against the vans other battery lol.

I had a First, today. Bought a motorhome for a laugh and removed leisure battery. I have had dozens of batteries over the years and on the boats I used to Skipper we had about 2 dozen in service batteries at any one time on the two boats. I have measured duff ones that have stood about for a couple of years but todays reading of 0.00 is an absolute first lol. Looks fairly newish, hilarious, new battery ordered this afternoon. Just sayin like.
