My Josher friend described Halsall empty as looking like garage door coming through a bridge hole . Project is shorter but just as in your face when empty. Big boats I love them. I'm waiting for Mike Askin to be kidnapped by fairies or beamed up by aliens so I can make off with Victoria no need to warn him he knows I'm lurking in the undergrowth waiting to pinch his boat

Good brushes and clean them carefully . I bought some Wilko synthetic bristle brushes out of curiosity and they're a favourite . Also have Hamilton brushes bought last century and some Purdys bought on special offer that I've not used yet. I have an elaborate system for settling out white spirit . Waste not Want not and all that.

Same photo Alan , I didn't know I had the article till I was looking for something else and found it. Lawrence, cryptic comment about the bow , do you mean it's been butchered in some way . Any photos . Jeanette Smith Harrison and archie57 , interesting information about Mr Charlie Lane . Anybody able to link to or add the photo of the shortened boat and /or a recent picture.

Ok so I got Caldy wrong , why was this one shortened and where for? I've got the article which shows Naburn full length but not one showing the it shortened.

There's a bunch of these boats shortened for northern canals . Anybody care to make up,a list ? My incomplete guess at a list . Fenny , Caldy . Purton , Paddington , Tipton , Naburn, Oakley , Southall, Let's track down Naburn if we can . Post any photos in the thread.

Sheet over the load . I don't think they're as faddy about boats that are outside only the ones let in through the lift bridge. Halsall has attended . I'm hoping to take a boat to the next one ( 2017 ) . Next year it's Parkhead -
