  3. hi all... need to buy a new stern gland greaser as mine has had its day with the seals worn out.. can anyone reccomend one as ive seen theres a few .. is brass best? thanks

  6. springers are not alot more than 3mm and look how many of them are still going strong.. people do panic ... ive seen a few sunken narrowboats and only a tiny amount are from damaged hull... and cant think of the last springer i saw sunk from hull corrosion or hull damage.. nearly always rainwater or stern gland failure..
  7. hi all... ive just brought a 23ft springer all in good working order etc.. i need it bringing from shebdon to gayton marina... does anyone know who i can use please? its 95 miles by water and 7 days according to canal planner... i had a quote but nearly fell off my perch.. i would do it myself but as im disabled its just to much .... many thanks dave

  16. it is on the frith drain about a quarter of a mile from pauls bridge ( i think thats what its called) .... i think the waterway belongs to the EA but not totally sure...... thanks
  17. hi all, me and the wife are very interested in buying a house that is on the frith bank with the garden going down to the water... there are fishing rights and landing stages but wondered if its possible for us to get permission to moor a boat there aswell.... does anyone know if this will be possible? any help would be great...
  18. just wondered if anyone lives around Earith as my wife has found a cottage there shes pestering me about... weve just sold our house so was looking for a property near river or canal.... this looks lovely but found out there is a travellers site just up the road... just wondered if this was anything to be concerned about.... it looks like the old lock cottage but not entirely sure... any info would be great.... thanks

  20. thanks for the update ... i cant believe someone has stolen the tiles.. i think not living there while works are going on is a big risk as empty houses will always attract the vandals... its tempting to call the number to see if they wish to sell...

  24. thats the one, sorry... i know it had no services but thats what i quite liked about it.. i know it sold with fisher german but they wont give me the details of new owner... do you know if any renovation has started?
  25. i remember last summer that the old lock cottage in cropredy was sold at auction.. just wondered if anyone knows if its being restored? or who now owns it as im very interested in purchasing it if there willing to sell... any info would be great... thanks dave and mandy
