  1. I have a normal house washer/dryer on mine. The only time i ever use the dryer is if i'm on the move....mostly because its just rubbish. Always thought it odd that it uses hot water to dry the washing! (also i managed to cook a mouse in there once that has hidden in the laundry basket....eeeeew) I just put my washing on a clothes horse in the winter and it dries quickle near the stove. Bon
  2. Baldock, you gave me a number to ring about a stall....i cant find it! Think im a bit too late but if you have it handy again id appreciate it Bon

  4. WOW! painful mortgage! Just hate the fact that us poor people don't get BW moorings anymore unless really lucky. Decided to stay where i am for now anyway. Bishop Meadow seems like a nice spot tho, considered it mostly cause it's really close to where i work. decided to stay where i am tho cause i love my neighbours far too much to leave yet. Bon
  5. Ahhhh, i did consider going for it myself but wouldnt have put in anything like the amount you put in! Bon
  6. I dont myself, but i know someone that does. Sup? Bon
  7. Oh, pretty.....thinking of calling my next boat Skull and havng piratey ghostly skulls on her, maybe using a bit of glow in the dark paint Bon
  8. I did consider writing to Pimp my Ride. Christmas special maybe? Hehe. Only thing is i can't stand the dj that hosts it in the uk (his name fails me) I'd want xhibit to come over form America. Bon
  9. I thought i'd have to make lots of kingfishers and swan windows for narrowboats as, like you say, not that many that are different. Yet no-one has even mentioned them yet....i've done bobcats, dragons eyes, swallows and amazons and all sorts of odd things. I'd be tempted for a "hotrod" boat if i had the money tho, lots of go faster flames please! Bon
  10. Ta, Soooo much i have to learn
  11. Sometimes i really wished i didn't have such an active imagination! Got an image of lots of blokes reading papers squatting on the towpath! I need a scouring pad for my brain!!!!! EWWWWWW Bon
  12. Erm, i know this is off topic, but whats wrong with having the stern rope on the tiller? I only ask as i did this on my first solo trip....my thinking was that being clumsy i had less chance of tripping over it! Bonnie

  14. How come the grape vine gets to you first???
  15. I did hear that, and recognise a certain person on the boat but didn't like to say and get a slapped wrist
  16. Was just sitting chatting to Soarscotty and a police helicopter starts hovering overhead. So like the concerned neighbours we are we go have a look see whats happening. 2 Police cars on the road into the marina and a dog car. Not certain exactly what had happened but a cruiser had been pulled in. Was told that they were speeding around and causing a ruckuss (first time i've ever used that phrase). I'm guessing it must have been a stolen boat....tho i'd be suprised if that was all with that many police officers. Anyone heard anything else? Has someone been hurt or something? Fingers crossed it's nothing more serious than a stolen boat (not that that isnt bad...but you know what i mean!) Bon

  18. Not heard any really bad stories, few bits thrown out of student windows is all....and they have all gone home now. I don't moor down there tho saying that, but more because just around the corner are some nice moorings with lots of grass for bbq's etc. Plus the cat has a plentiful supply of dogs to attack. Bon
  19. The art work is rubbish too! (she says as they didn't accept our proposal for some glass work there! ) I agree the water is in a bit of an odd place, i'd rather go up to Bishop Meadow and fill there if i ever have to. Bon

  22. Strangley my Moms next door neighbors house got hit by lightning last year. All the lightbulbs in both houses exploded. The TVs didnt explode as such but stopped working, all the sky boxes also. Scared my Mom lots and now she turns everything off! Glad i don't have a TV arial really, have to have the on a 20ft pole in my marina! Bonnie
  23. Was thinking of trying to get a crafty stall there, anyone know where i can get details and prices? Failing that i'll try getting boaty there.....failing that i'll go by brum brum bike! Bon
