  1. Happy Birthday... Just!

  2. apologies in advance if this function is present, or if this question has already been asked (had a quick scan, doesn't seem to have been), is there a way to see a list of your own recent posts? I often post on forums all over the place, then when I go to check any replies cannot remember evey thread to which I've contributed. If someone could make it so, super!
  3. For those who were after 'The Amateur Boatwomen', this is from the publisher's website: "We hope to have a reprint run shortly. If you are interested in receiving notification of availability please email us at jlbelmont@aol.com "
  4. quite true, but still annoying!
  5. now there's an idea. Is there a wiki site for boating?
  6. but isn't that horrendously unlucky? on a serious note, I'd recommend Jim Shead's website, though I'd also hope that the boat would have come with some sort of log when you bought it? I always think that that's a nice touch.
  7. Superb photos, and great news that canal restoration/construction, a topic I follow keenly, is making the news.
  8. By this logic does not everything that costs money discriminate against women? True evidence shows that many women earn less than their male peers for doing the same job, but this is not universal and I fear you're fighting a losing battle here. I'm against the tendering process also, but only because, as shown with the housing market in Scotland, it dramatically inflates the price of everything. Also, I've been on the BW waiting list for a mooring for many many months, and there is nothing yet to appear even remotely close to where I want to be.
  9. Hi all, 23 year old postgraduate student moving to London this summer, and would ideally want to live on a barge within the next couple of years. Have some boating experience (narrow and sail), and the lure of the liveaboard lifestyle is proving strong! Have been researching, looking for moorings, reading the books etc, but when I'm in London full-time, hope to get moving on this with greater urgency. Earning a decent wage will also help!
