  2. UPDATE: I can confirm that after taking Mark and Andy's advice it does indeed work! Many thanks to all who helped me with this.
  3. Thanks Mark & Andy for your help with this, I'm sure that there are others who will also find it useful. Having created a route and exported it (GPX Format) ... it appears as a web page? how do I actually save it to my computer as a file? I have downloaded EasyGPS but couldn't see how to save file to computer ready to import to EasyGPS.
  4. Yes, It's the Venture HC with a built in memory of 24MB, Oh well !
  5. Here is the specification for the model I have (Etrex Venture HC) Clicky! Sorry I can't be more specific, I'm not really that techie when it comes down to this sort of thing. I do appreciate any help or advice that can be offered. "Looking at the MapSource software, I believe it is designed for you to create waypoints/routes on their mapping and then export them using the PC interface to your GPS. There doesn't seem to be any facility for importing from other sources". Mark, That does appear to be the case, for some reason, I was under the impression that files could be transferred via PC to device... I think I have got mixed up somewhere a long the line!! But thanks for your input, it is appreciated.
  6. I've searched the Forums, and looked on the Canalplan website but couldn't see any information relating to downloading a saved journey from my computer to my Garmin Vista HC. Is this even possible to do? If so, I would be very grateful if someone could share with me.

  9. Hi Allan, That makes perfect sense, thanks for that! I'll look out for one with a remote sensor.
  10. Hi Alan, I'm thinking of getting one of these, would like to know if it is suitable? If they are, it would appear to be a small price to pay for peace of mind.

  22. Just added some new Photo's Looks like Sedona will be ready in about 3 weeks time, We asked the builders to "go slow" on the build last year as we wouldn't have been able to get it from Shardlow to Brinklow in November because of stoppages, plus wo*k meant I had no spare time to take a week off

  25. Last Thursday's Jeremy Vine Show on BBC Radio 2 featured a discussion about a proposed new law to make drinking alcohol illegal when in control of a canal boat. I missed the show last Thursday, but have just listened to it and thought I would share it with anyone that may have missed it and would like to hear it now. Jeremy Vine Show It starts at about thirty minutes in, and lasts for almost 30 minutes (including musical intervals).
