  1. Oh yeah I was thinking in kg ! Just looked on ebay thats quite alot of weights , defintely pick up only ! (62KG personally)
  2. Totally agree with you .The boat is stable in the water it has a list not an angle of loll , it doesn`t even change much if you walk around the boat. I looked at the water markings aroung the water line today and its about 5cm lower on one side . Got to be a blance problem so going to get a 56lb weight or two as DaveR suggested . Does the £10 include postage and packaging !??
  3. Did cross my mind as it got alot worse after i did the pump out , but I really don`t think it had a list like that before. Anyway i`m not taking the floor up ! Think i`m just going to put extra ballast in.
  4. After mooring up on the flooded Weaver I left the boat for about an hour . On returning the river had dropped and the boat was leaning to the side as the bow rope was to tight . I slackend the rope the boat rocked side to side quite a bit and i thought all was well , but now I have a list which was never there before. Could the ballast have moved ? I`ve got laminate floor so don't want to take it up , should I just put some extra ballast under on of the cupboards ?
  5. Does anybody know of a pub between the Swan With Two Nicks on the Bridgewater (Little Bollington) and the Anderton lift that will be showing the Man U game on Sunday ? ? (replies from reds only!!!)
  6. Sounds like its locked out . Think you need to remove the central fuse fot 30 seconds then restart it . Don't think its a fuel problem.
  7. I'm on the Weaver most of the time. The lock keepers tend to operate the locks as you arrive then telephone ahead to the next lock if needed. The best place to stock up on supplies is Northwich town centre between the two swing bridges , the only pump out on the river is there to. I have never been up to Winsford and the red lion does have a bit of a reputation . Have been as far as Vale Royal though which is very pleasant but not to may places to moor. My favouite place to moor has got to be barnton cut just up river from saltesford , you can walk up into barnton from there as well. further down river good mooring at acton bridge with two good pubs. Never actually found devils garden but people do go on about it, think its just a field with a cow in it ! Its worth mooring at sutton bridge and walking into frodsham which is a nice town and further on theres marsh lock again worth a look at least. You will enjoy the Weaver its a beautifull river with loads of history. Make sure have enough desiel before you come down the anderton as you can't get any on the river. enjoy !
  8. I'm more than happy on Northwich marina. Tried to get a mooring on the T & M with no luck (did leave it a bit late!) and ended up on the Weaver , 3 years later still love it but you can get a bit stuck in the winter months with the locks and anderton shutting . Met a guy as I tried to get up the Anderton this morning(frozen solid!) he was just moving form Northwich marina to a mooring on the T & M for that reason so they have got spaces. Even if its just a stop gap it might be worth a try.
  9. Had myself booked to go up Anderton lift first thing this morning. After finally getting the frozen ropes untied boat engine started and driving without a tiller(frozen in the trad seat!) got there and the Anderton is frozen solid! Hopefully will get up on wednesday or I will never get to old trafford to see the boys do wigan!
  10. I used fire cement last year on th exact same spot and i'm about to redo it tomorrow because it has all cracked. I think that there is some movement of the chimney and stove maybe due to expansion or something. Don't mind redoing it every 6 months or so though.
  11. Put a gate valve coming off the califier today , really easy. All radiators are now hot. I bought the boat from new so think it is bad workmanship to be honest.

    Ecofan

I have been thinking of putting a small household fan pointing down the corridor to the back bedroom sure it would help.

I've got a 57foot with the stove at the bow and bedroom at the stern. I use a two blade fan and as I like a smoke now and then you can certanly see the air circulating with the 2 blade fan working. It doesn't make any difference to the back bedroom though. I would get a 3 blade fan if I was to purchase another.
  14. just thought i'd put a drawing of the system just to show my art work is better than koukouvagias. Its colour coded blue=cold red=hot! It's taken me all night to upload and i've had to much to drink and am off to bed. Goodnight
  15. Thats a good idea do they come with a manual shut off as well ?
  16. Thanks for that quick reply . I would like a gate valve to to califier anyway so if that doesn't work then least i will know one of the valves must be stuck. Should I fit the valve to the califier inlet or outlet pipe ? Does it make any difference ?
  17. The outlet pipe from my webasto(which is now working fine!) ends in a T junction. One side runs in a loop to the bathroom radiator with the califier in and out let pipes off it. The other side feeds two radiators that run in parallel the full length of the boat. The problem I am having is the radiators take ages to heat up and the return pipe from them is always cold to touch. I can alter the flow through the bathroom radiator but the califier has no stop tap . Is the water taking the easiest route via the califier then back again ? If so if i fittted a stop tap to the califier would it solve the problem?
  18. Just cleaned out my webasto after seeing how easy it was thanks to Chris W (loads and loads of build up). All the rads warmed up for the first time this year ! It did take about 3 hours though but the boat was very cold . When disconnecting the outlet pipe to remove air locks in the unit the flow was by no means gushing out , more of a steady stream. Do you think the fuel pump may be lagging?
  19. just thought did open all valves to max. How do I balance the system?
  20. Are there cray fish in the trent and mersey ? got a pot to put out and put kippers in it for some reason but never caught any!
  21. Ok bled all the radiators and removed the out let pipe from the webasto and blue liquid just flowed out.(how long should i have done this for to remove any airlocks?). If it was not balanced between the calorfier and the other two radiators i would still have either hot water or radiators?). The unit is quit hot to touch but nothing else is!
  22. I have got a 57 foot narrowboat the heating if via a solid fuel burner and also a webasto thermo c . There are three radiators and a califier in the system . If i try to use the webasto to heat the water it is only luke warm the radiator in toilet does sort of get warm. (the califier and this radiator are on the same loop) . The radiator in the back cabin sort of gets half warm and the radiator in the front saloon never gets warm. If the engine has been running the radiator temperature does improve. I have tried bleeding the system , the webasto runs ok . Is the heater just not up to the job or could I improve its perfomance some how ? I have not run it much and its less than 6 months old.
