We moored opposite the NIA once and it was a great place to moor - lively until the pubs shut and then quiet all night. That was before 24 hour opening though!

Just received a text from Cheshire rose who received a text from Moley but is unable to post it because she is going straight to her SAS training after w**k Moley - "Found internet cafe yesterday and posted location but unless BSP stops by on way to w**k we'll be gone by 9 a.m. catch her on Hatton"

I think that humour can also be an issue. Some people always take the written word at face value whereas the poster may have their tongue firmly in their cheek. This is hard to show on a forum.

I pump-out when the list becomes annoying. This can be weeks or months but with modern systems this doesn't seem to be a problem. I use my boat for week-ends, odd nights and holidays and I have not yet encountered any ill effects from pumping out only when the tank needs it. Dave

In my experience this is the case with many forums on the internet. Yes I am a sad git and live a large part of my life in cyberspace. The only effective way to deal with this is to ignore those who seem to always be negative as we would in real life. The positive and helpful posts on this site far outweigh the negatives in my opinion and the arguments and discussions can allow you to see both extremes. The truth is probably somewhere in-between!

I have a Tecma macerator toilet that also fills the bowl 3/4 of the way up. This is actually an efficient way of doing it because it is the suction that provides the flushing action rather than water being poured straight through. This is why this type of toilet is used on aircraft where the weight and space water takes up is important. A normal home loo uses several gallons of water whereas this toilet only uses 1/2 gallon. It just looks a lot! Dave
