Could they not stop aboard the boat?

£150/day is my standard charge, but I generally want more if it's London. I'm not a gas fitter, but as a gas fitter once told me: until you connect it to gas, a pipe is just a pipe.

Oral complaints are like oral contracts: not worth the paper they're not written on. Put it in writing. Why? They've got to spend the money on something. You wouldn't want them wasting it on doing something useful.

Being reasonably ignorant on the subject, my answer would be that the ideal engine is the one you've got sat around doing nothing... But what is actually involved in marinating an engine? I can only think of the sump and the cooling system, but I am guessing there is more to it than that.

I'm about to start experimenting with briquettes made from rapeseed residue... I'll let you know.

'scuse me if it is a silly question, but what "it" costs £33/year? Is that what "rafts" cost, or did you base it on the size of the craft? If the former, how do they define "raft"? That may have answered my question above. Do they define "mechanical"? Are you allowed levers, pulleys or wheels?

Yes, but I don't need it that quickly, and a boat can carry hundreds, if not thousands of tonnes. I imagine that most people with boats cherish their living space, but perhaps some cruise around with a usable hold. I would if I could. If a cargo wanted to go the same way I was going, it need not cost very much to take it aboard. You can get flexitanks now which fit inside a standard shipping container. All we need is robot piloted boats. They're getting close to it with cars, so the technology cannot be far off. You would need some human input, but a couple of people could probably drive several boats with robot assistance.

I was thinking of a number of IBC's. Or 55 Gallon drums. It's more a description.

A boat for transporting things. Perhaps I should have said "a cargo boat". Oil. From a port, to an inland location. It doesn't matter which port, and I have not yet located the inland location... In some respects, it is a general discussion, to see what is out there, and whether it wants to be improved upon.

Is anybody here running a transport boat? Or point me in the direction of somebody. If not, can we talk about setting one up?

It does not matter so much if a boat is heavy as it does for a car. Concrete cars not a winner I think. I think you do not use a mould. A steel frame is made, and the concrete smeared onto that. And I think I heard there are some pretty old concrete boats still afloat.
