I don't use any connection between alternator and the LiFePO4 - they're solar and generator charged. My engine is fitted with a 175A auxiliary alternator, but that's 12V - My LiFePO4 are 24 V. Anyway, in Summer I have no issues - I was fully charged today by 11.30 even - in winter I need the generator for an hour or two depending on the day's sunlight.

I think the pics are fairly self explanatory - The stove runs fine - after lighting on an fully open draught control - No. 6, we run the entire day/night on No. 1 - nothing more to see. If the fire dies andd we need to add more logs/coal we just open up the control and then back it down when things have caught on.

I have realised that I owe you all an update. Here it is. It works fine. Still alive... Been toasty warm all winter. Not had any issues at all. I do get a bit of smoke if I yank the door open too vigorously, when filling with more fuel, but that's the norm with or without an outside duct. Do you need pics?

What?!! A carp idea? I've been sucking air through a 43mm pipe, 7.5m in length from my engine bay to my multifuel stove all Winter. It has worked like a dream. Even in the most gusty conditions, there is no way any smoke gets out of the system into the living space of the barge. The only time I have any sign of smoke is when I open the door too quickly to add more fuel.
