  1. Hi, Just quoting what we have been told, after we eventually got all of the air out of the system (it did take many hours !), with the header tank kept topped up, we have kept to the 45min on 10 min off, and have had no problems, we were told these heaters were initially designed for heating truck cabs. It works extremely well, we also control it by text, so we always have a warm boat to go to !Mr Jinks Working well now, no problems Mr Jinks
  2. Hi, We had this problem, the problem was air in the system, you will have to have the burner de-coked , we contacted Toby @ Keto marine in Poole, he is great for advise. It took us many hours of bleeding the system and re-topping the expansion tanks, each time it ran for a miniute longer before it shut down, you must make sure antifreeze it kept at the correct level. We were also advised that you shouldn't run the heater for longer than 45mins at a time, 45 on 10 off, as they are not designed to run longer as they can overheat and coke up. Also you must bleed the system without the circulating pump on Good luck Wendy Mr Jinks
  3. Hello, I have contacted BW, who state that the car parks are managed by TCP, a annual parking permit can be purchased, per licensed vechile, for £175, no concessions to boat owners. Wendy Mr Jinks
  4. Hi, We have a narrow boat on the Kennett and Avon in the marina at Devizes. last weekend we noticed that the car park at All Cannings had become a pay and display £8 a day !! (in coins), by Saturday the machine had been vandalised, and strangley only half the parking area is pay and display and half is free!!, who is going to pay? Now I have found out that all the BW car parks along the canal here are going to be pay and display, what are your views? Wendy Mr Jinks
  5. Afternoon, I think the name plate looks wonderful, we had our's made for Mr Jinks from Silsden Boats, they look lovely Wendy
  6. Well it works!! and for £35 for the pump, money well spent I think!! Given all the problem you can have with these type of heaters, it is better not to leave anything to chance. Wendy Mr JInks
  7. HI, The rad just get warm, although we have only tested it in the marina, so the engine wasn't under load, as for "back feed" is a feed from another direction, but should the opposite feed be initiated from the original source, I think Toby was worried that the burner or part of the boiler would operate out of synch. My not be a issue, but best to be cautious. Steven
  8. I wanted to mimic the over temp stat that makes the pump run after the heating cycle but I think the reason was posible back feed but more likely waranty and who to blame if somthing goes wrong. Any the second pump is fitted in line and and is fed via its own switch and supply. It works as I expected and gets the rads to a warm temperature whilst the engine is running which will be perfect when moving in winter. Steve
  9. Morning, We had the same problem with our webasto heating when we cahnged a radiator, we had the burner serviced because of the smoke and a burner pipe changed. but it would fire up and turn off within miniutes....the engineer was useless, and kept trying different things and charging each time11, in the end I contacted Toby @ Keto marine Webasto people, who said it is always air....once it is in the sytem it is awful to get it out!!. We gave up with the engineer, and sat and bled the system without the pump running, refilling the heater tank , for about a hour, then it would run for 9 miniutes and cut out, we then allowed it to cool, added antifreeze, and bled it again,. Each time for around a hour, and each time we gained another miniute to the run time, we were told it is good to do this after the system has been off for as long as possible if you are luckly the air moves , so first thing in the morning is good, eventually after much bleeding and swearing it statrted to run it's full cycle, and we haven't had any trouble since, we have just added another pump to circulate heat to the radiators when the engine is running, we laost a bout a cupful of water...so we bled it for about half an hour to be on the safe side...all OK good luck...I'm sure the problem is the same AIR Wendy MrJinks
  10. Morning Chris, We conacted Toby @ Keto marine in Poole, he is a excellent guy, really knowledgable and helpful, he didn't like the idea of using 2 power supplies from 2 sources. We have installed the extra pump today, and are trying it out as we speak, Fingers crossed Steven Mr Jinks
  11. Tim I asked the same question to Webasto and was strongley advised not to! and was advised to fit a second pump to the central heating circuit and control it seperatly. The pumps are non resistive and therefore wont hinder the operation of the original pump when switched off. The net result which was what I was looking for is that I dont need to switch on the webasto when we are running the engine. We have a twin coiled calorifier which now works backwards and by operating the second pump circulating the central heating water the engine coil heats the calorifier which heats the central heating coil and the pump ciculates the water t the rads. Steven from NB MR JINKS.

  13. Hello, Actually Silsden didn't name the boat, their fllet are all called Drummer girl/bot/something, so we re -registered it, beacuse our sur name is Jinkins!! Small world isn't it Wendy
  14. Hi, We brought a boat from Sisden boats in Nov 04, they sell ex-hire boats, although our's ( as have many) are only hired out for one season (4-5 months),we have a beautiful 47ft boat, semi-trad, it came will everything, interter, cooker, microwave, fridge,cd,curtains, full tank of diesel and lot's more. We had her delivery to Watford from Keighley, we secured a rural mooring at Harefield marina, quite relaxed friendly and open, a great first time mooring, I think the mooring was about £1500.00 per annum, realisically I beleive the total cost for our boat, which we use every weekend etc, but do not live aboard, is 4k+ per annum. But I would not hesitate to reccommend Silsden Boats....please mention us to Barbara jenny etc if you do contact them....Wendy and Steven Jinkins Mr Jinks
  15. Afternoon, The curtains are 4 pairs of 87cm drop and one set longer, can I have your email address to send you a pic?, as I don't know how to post a pic on this site, and my son is on holiday!!!! Wendy Mr Jinks
