  1. I made a spelling boob when i first wrote about my break on the kennet/Avon The Boat yard is Called SallY narrowboats Not Row as i had writen. I can see the funny side.
  2. Hi thinking of cruising up Brecon in Wales anyone ever cruised that waterway what are your views of it
  3. Just returned from a very last minute break on the K/A canal. Phoned Sally rowboats at Bradford on Avon up sat morning was offered an excellent price for a 3 night break with a late return on Tuesday night. The boat we had was a 54ft 4 berth Semi called Leah, it might not have had the flashy things boats have these days but was line with real wood and very comfortable. The staff at the yard were brilliant, very helpful cheerful and friendly. First time on the K/A considering we used to live right near until moving to somerset. Would just like to recommend Sally narrow boats for anyone wanting good service and great boats. next year they hope to have some new boats and current models are being updated. One of their 6 berth boats called Martha is defiantly worth looking at Would also say what a great time of year to cruise as well.
  4. Hi i am planning a weeks holiday in 2 weeks time and i am thinking of booking Golden meadow from Anglo welsh from Trevor. Has anyone any info on this boat or has been it, any feedback would be useful
  5. you could try union canal carriers, they offered me a good discount, or saisons they seem good prices
  6. we are thinking of trying to get a few days away this weekend looking at Saisons boats at whilton, any route idea preferably without any locks, looked at going as far as blissworth tunnell, can anyone tell whats passed ther and what is do able in 3 days
  7. Hi any ideas, we were planning to hire a boat with soild fuel stove/fire in early march and cruise the llangollen but i see there will be some stoppages at new marton locks, which will prevent us getting very far. Does anyone know of any other 4 berth craft which we could hire on a pleaseant stretch of waterway with not too many locks
  8. Thinking of hirering a boat in march possibly on the llangollen, anyone done this and what would it be like holidaying in march
  9. i must admit i am struggling with this converstion, i have been hiereing boats for nearly 30years, broads and canals. have many a time gone to look at buying my own but have felt financialy it safer to hirer. When i am boating i can think the same as a private ownwer thinks but this time it is against the private, some are polite some are stuck and some just completley ignore you and think they are the cats whiskers. I completley agree with others saying without hireres where would the canals be. we should all help one another whenever it is needed
  10. hi not sure if Galleon boat hire on the Basingstoke canal, based in Odiham hire out that early could be worth a try
  11. anyone done wrenbury to llangollen thinking of going early october just wonder if any has any tips/advice and boat yards
  12. we have just stopped at Braunston today and saw the Dover moored in the marina, it was a great pleasure to see her there in all her glory so i had to take some pics to prove it was her
  13. hi folks only 2 days to go and i am not sure what route to take we are going from rugby and would like peoples comments on the best route to go for a weeks cruise, i have looked at going up the Ashby then down to Braunston. Would appreciate as many views as possible
  14. Glad you had a good time its good to hear some positive feedback on canaltime, all i read is bad vibes all the which is very off putting as their prices are very reasonable. any more feedback on them would be good. what sizw boat was it 4/6 berth
