    Homeless

Hi, my name is Spud and my idiot owners sold my boat from under my paws and moved back to blighty and made us homeless! So do me a favour, and while you are out and about on your travels, if you hear of a good boat that the owners are thinking about parting with, give me a shout at budspud2017@gmail.com or ring 07562 260212 Thanks! (More info on preferred spec in the wanted section on the forum- don't know how to link it!)

  7. Just got fabric samples from Nabru so just need to choose now! Any dog owners got a Nabru and can advise which fabric is most pet friendly?
  8. Hi all Can anyone recommend a company or brand of sofa that we can assemble on board? We are aware of the Ikea options and have just found a company online called Nabru, but don't know if these are any good? We would like a large-ish chaise long type of sofa as this shape would fit best in the space we have. The Nabru options look interesting but not having heard of them before, just wondered if anyone here knows about their quality? Any ideas or reviews much appreciated! Cheers.
  9. Thanks everyone. I think that is exactly the one we need Blackrose, ours has lasted nearly six years but we have 3 people on board. Still works but getting very temperamental! Could not find the product on your link Grace & Favour... We had considered a PC fan, but worried that it is not very waterproof for the job in the bathroom. I wonder how long they would last in this environment? Gotta dash now as our mooring is getting very flooded now and we are running out of anchors to keep us in place! All the public jetties are under water now and more wind and rain is forecast.....the joys of living on a river!!
  10. Hi all. Can anyone advise me the best place I can get a new 12v bathroom extractor combined with a light?
  11. Thanks for all the replies. Not planning on an imminent move but always I interested to know where we could go if we ever decided to move...? Cheers folks!
  12. Hi folks. Can anyone give us a bit of general info on cruising range and fees for a wide beam (70x10) on the UK waterways? Where would the best location be to give maximum cruising range for this size? Also, just wondering what is the licence fee? Cheers.
  13. Thanks very much. I'm not familiar with the area at all, so was just wondering where on the system this size wide beam could go....
  14. Just out of curiousity can a 70+10 navigate round the fens
  15. Hold onto your hats its a comming your way. I am on the river Erne near Belturbet Ireland Been up since 3am and its still blowing hard . River flooded and has waves crashing against the side of hull.
  16. Hi all. Just seen this on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-DC-CPU-Cooling-CAR-Brushless-Water-Pump-DC50D-1240-Brand-NEW-/261015154007?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PondsWaterFeatures_UK&hash=item3cc5b72d57 Do you think it would be suitable as a replacement for a Johnson central heating pump?
  17. Wow,I buy my gas in Northern Ireland and it seems to be price fixed at £31 00 for calor can they do this as it is still part of the uk.
  18. Yes,there has been some fair points made,ie being penalised for working for charities, keeping unemployment figures down to win votes, but when it comes down to it what looks better on a cv,done nothing for a year or done training course or a scheme.
  19. I can't see a problem with working say three days a week to earn your dole and benefits that go with it.With the amount of people claiming surely you should give something back, say helping to restore canals, footpaths, and other useful projects where you can learn new skills and help others.
  20. The housing market crashed and burnt and is still burning with ghost estates and empty half built houses every where.Empty yes empty marinas
  21. Is the amount of liveaboards growing on the uk system,or does it balance its self out with people moving on board finding its not for them and moving off again.I'm just curious because it is not popular at all here, given the amount of unspoilt waterways.
  22. It's great fun isn't it? Today I was swarking like a chicken and skipping down the isles of asda to have a laugh with her. She did not seem amused...!
  23. We have a 13 year old daughter who apparently lives on our boat. She appears from her cabin every now and then to be fed and watered, tells us to shut up, then goes back to her cave. We have to park up the road from her school when we pick her up so that we are not seen, and have strict instructions not to embarrass her or speak above a whisper in public at any time. However, sometimes this ease of embarrassment is useful as it can get her to do anything you want otherwise we mis-behave in front of her friends...!
  24. Locaboat have got three of their boats at Clondra which is handy for the Royal and the shannon, there are also a couple of widebeams also for hire from another company. For photos try the heritage boat association ie web site, and click on photos. rambler on the royal canal.Sorry dont know how to do link. The Royal is closed at summit level at present due to lack of water, hopefully a bit of rain should sort this out.
