  1. Boat now safely moored at Roydon in Essex, can highly recommend, Giles at "Your Helmsman" fantastic service, great communication.
  2. It is going by water to Roydon marina, I have been speaking to another Helm about the move, it's the lack of contact and updates that concern me about using remote, I understand things happen, but a quick one liner would go a long way. Being taken via brentford not down to Limehouse on the thames.
  3. Hi all I had been speaking with a company to move my nb at the beginning of March from Surrey to Essex, I have been trying to contact them to get confirmation of this happening but have been unable to make contact, which is not inspiring me with confidence, have found another company a little bit more but can still complete my time frame, whats your thoughts on this. Regards Robert
  4. Here is my boat zeus, just before I moved her from Bradford upon Avon
  5. Well solar panels, new victron charger/inverter fitted and working well, just need to buy the new fridge now. Thanks everyone for advice and comments Robert
  6. Dis board is already in place for 240v, and for peace of mind I would rather pay the extra for the named brand, as stated if it goes wrong it should bee easier to get fixed, if I can manage the larger unit I will, just for a bit of future proofing Robert
  7. Hi all The supplier is battery megastore, the biggest energy hog I will have is the fridge, which I will replace with a newer and more efficient model, I am going to try for the 12/2000, bit of belt tightening so fingers crossed, I did think about separate units but prefer all in one for simplicity and overall cost. Robert
  8. I will spending the summer hopefully cruising with my step daughter, want to get the best I can with what I have available to spend, the comment was meant to show that I will not need the inverter to be running all the time
  9. If I make do with the old fridge for a bit I can possibly squeeze to the Victron Energy MultiPlus Compact 12/2000/80-30 VE.Bus – CMP122200000 £1,128.59
  10. I have found a new Mooring for the new year will be in a marina on shore power, just about to get the solar panels fitted, looks like I'm needing a new inverter/charger and neew fridge, going 240v for fridge freezer, the best inverter I can afford is the victron 12/1600 multiplus, does anyone have experience with this model, need to order this week for fitting next week when the panels are done Thanks in advance Robert
  11. In a pinch I was gonna go this route, but I have now sourced the rail and posts in a matching colour scheme that works for me, thanks for that though, I will post pictures of the finished product, when completed
  12. I will check out Wilkos, got new cabinet doors and drawer fronts in hand, new lighting organised, new power power points and switches ect organised, the funny thing is it is the big ticket stuff that is taking time as I'm waiting on others to get to it, seems to be a lack of urgency, but I'm getting all the finishing touches done, and yes these are fun lol
  13. I had no idea what their name was lol, going for pole at top and now trying to find a satin finish rail for the bottom, many thanks all for that, I had thought of the wire for the bottom but my ocd was fighting it, its amazing all the bloody little things you have to think about lol
  14. I'm having curtains made and need a thin rod and ends to hold the bottom of the curtains close to the sides any suggestions?
  15. I'm new to this as well, I just persevered and eventually it paid off, had chancers trying it on for the last before I purchased, wanted an extra £10k lol, told them to shove it then found one that was a lot better and at a price I was very happy with. Hang in there it will happen
  16. I agree, I thought it an engineering marvel, but sadly I find I must continue forward as much as I would like to revisit the experience (shuddering), I have absolutely no idea how much water, a lot Dozee
  17. Thanks so much, just completed caen Hill locks, sweet Mary mother of God, I think even my little toe aches lol
  18. I find it disappointing that people are not honest but greedy, there is no need, at the end of the day I think I have got a better boat, there's is still up for sale and I hope it takes bloody ages, I will post details and pictures once on board, no dought I will be back for advice and guidance, again many thanks people, it shows what a community is about. Robert
  19. Well that one did not work out, signed contract and they came back saying they wanted another 10k on the agreed price, blew that out and found another which I take possession of on sunday woohoo, would like to thank all the positive contributions for advice and help, now my new life begins
  20. Hi Finance is through promarine, from the seller below; Also, we thought we'd say that the finance provider we used was a company called Promarine Finance (https://www.marine-finance.org/) - if you wanted to also corroborate that we have all of the original paperwork - they're the ones holding onto it all until the loan amount is paid off and would be able to confirm that it's all there. I think I'm going to have to ask them to get it paid out first before I proceed as that seems the safest course. Robert
  21. Hi, first owner was original owner, new owners are apparently relocating to USA for work, which they are hoping to be in about 2 months Robert
  22. Well I'm normally pretty polite but, pull your head in, I have asked a question about a boat I have found to purchase, that has finance on it, they have given me the finance company name but obviously that does not help, should I just say needs to be paid and then we can proceed, they have there survey from 8 months ago when they purchased and the previous owners from about 12 months ago. The boat is open plan which they said put people off but actually I like, IS THAT OK WITH YOU, no windup
  23. Hi all Ok found a boat I like and now viewed, what is the process for a private seller buyer and the boat does have finance on it of 18k, do I need a solicitor or just the online paperwork as concerned about getting conned. Thanks all
  24. I think really with all of the ones I have looked at I would replace the batteries anyway and probably upgrade them, saw the video, thanks for that Robert
