  2. I've been thinking about this, the jubilee is about history, and pagentry. However there is a large proportion of the puplic who identify with c'lebs and constant "action" What would have been better then combine the 2? My suggestion is to have illustrated the Dunkirk little ships role by having Maureen Lipman, Anneka Rice, Sandi Toksvig, Griff, et al running down the beach of Dunkirk and scrambling aboard a selection of "little Ships"..... All the time machine gunning them from the air, with a squadron of ME 109's. History, Celebrity, and Action, all in one fell swoop.
  3. I missed the start. Can anyone tell me if the Beeb managed to acknowledge Havengore's presence on the river. I know she was there as I saw the name underneath "and there's Princess Eugene" but I was suprised that Churchill's funeral "barge" and a participant in the silver jubilee celebrations didnt even seem to warrant the same amount of time as iPads which got namechecked at least twice. Yes I'm a boat nerd, but at the end of the day it was a show put on largely by boat nerds. I mean who else would sit on a river for xenu knows how long when it was pissing it down with rain. Absolutely dismal reporting, the crowning glory for me was Griff and 3 other has beens inside an historic boat. And they were so self absorbed they couldnt even swing the camera round the inside of the cabin. I expect better from the BBC than self promotion of z list celebs
  4. . 5 MPH the skipper was talking shit, if the river was flowing at 5 the skipper may well have been correct.
  5. Thank you to everyone that has answered my question.
  6. It's not camo that gives me the willies, it's dazzle paint and 15" guns. Captain Ralph Kerr

  19. Such a shame. My Thetford is in Leicester. and Mrs duck gave it a lovely spring clean just a week or so ago. Edited to say. best of luck with your project, even without my beloved Thetford which would have been the star of the show.
  20. I would be more than happy to send you a photo of my Thetford arguably the MOST important bit of boating kit.
  21. yes. Watch for the waterways furring up, and the resulting overheating. If you buy one... CHANGE THE TIMING BELT
