  1. Still, get Christmas over with, then the clocks go forward, and then the little ducklings start to appear.... and hey presto, balmy summer days, bbqs, chilled wine, lovely salads.... Christmas is just a necessary event to get through, to get to the 'other side'! Trouble is, we'll be another year older, and some of us are using up our 'quota' fast ??

  10. On 25th Sept we bought 8 x 25kg bags of Excel for £12.50 per bag, and diesel @ £0.78 per litre from a coal boat On 26th Sept we exchanged a gas bottle at Ashby Boat Co for £29 On 30th Oct we bought 6 x 25kg bags of Excel for £12.00 per bag (gone down - may be good customer discount?) from same coal boat as above, and diesel @ £0.87 per litre. Was advised that a bottle of gas has now gone up to (think it was said) £32.95 - though we didn't buy any, didn't need to. Looks like gas and diesel has gone up by 10%! We passed Streethay a couple days ago, their diesel was advertised as £0.93 per litre.

  21. Sorry, I posted the wrong link, this one is the one we're hovering about buying. It's a bigger capacity, and a few quid cheaper. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07DVGYDL5/?coliid=IFQT10ALWX36F&colid=2UZ4AULM1CJJD&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

  24. Been thinking of something like this... The power pack we've been dithering about (link below) is a lot more expensive.... the OP's link is very tempting. The battery/ies takes about 8 hours via a 240 connection for fully charging, which as we motor a couple of hours a day, and using solars on the odd days the winter sun comes out, the pack could be kept topped up. We also visit marinas for a few days every month in the winter, so another top up there. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-54000Mah-Emergency-Household-Cigarette/dp/B07HJSDS91/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541061130&sr=8-1&keywords=large+power+pack%2C+12v%2C+240
