  3. Note to self: never read this thread when it starts to get dark Grrrrr Mr Phil
  4. Don't worry Mr Peterboat. I told CRT in the email that I need to come back to town and pick up a new Instructor (That's you by the way) Been practicing by drinking Ribena straight from the bottle and winking at ducks in a menacing manner Hi Mr Dave P Done the Chimney bit, waiting on a hat and chimney pipe orders from Pennine Boats ( they understand my hysterical ramblings) I'll ask the couple who are taking me up about the stoppages. Thank you
  5. I couldn't see any damage when I went back but it's hard to check without stepping on the boat which I won't do. Did my back in pulling out a floating island of plants this morning so I could start the boat. Will post a pic later of it (Sure I saw King Kong walking il around it) so currently parked up. Sent CRT a email informing them of what I have done and where I am going Going to wait till the wind dies before getting diesel and gas, plus there is a boat getting worked on at Pennine boats so I will have to wait anyway. I have poop on my knees, the rain hurts my scalp, and my pup has wind I'm putting sprouts inside those Marshmallows
  6. Hit my first boat today trying to pull out and whacked its outside bottom. No one has been on it for a while so left my details. Really ticked off about it. It's windy up here and I was trying to move and pick up diesel and hit the water and loo area, just don't want to risk hitting any other boats getting there so I am moored just before bridge 177. Hope to move back to past bridge 180 as it is a really nice walking spot. Stupid wind Mr Nightwatch. I have moved my boat from there since we last met, but I don't know how long I have been moored after bridge 177 so I ain't complaining ( no hugs for CRT though.....for a while) I blame QCat and Trillian. They ain't no better than they ought to be Grrrrr marshmallows
  7. Greenie but I really hate you for putting the image of Geese eating spiders into my head before I go to sleep
  8. Just got this text Reminder it looks like you've been moored in the same stretch for over 14 days please move on or call 03030 404040 to discuss thank you Canal & River Trust Haven't been in this spot for 14 days! I'll lurk off some place else in the morning. Really windy at the moment. Got a hedge building up at the back of the boat. Looking forward to learning how to do locks without losing my boat if I can do locks than I can go anywhere (as long as the swing bridges are on the correct side) Why aren't there any Geese in Skipton. Been here since September and haven't seen a single Goose!? PS Promise not to be weird on Monday ( fingers crossed behind my back)
  9. Mr Athy can have a snifter of Carling ONLY Thank you for posting this blog post http://narrowboatstarcross.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/up-stove-shots.html?m=1 I got a chimney brush and I was bashing away but I couldn't work out how to take the top bit out to remove ash. Apparently my stove doesn't have a removable bit so it was the poking the ash out with fingers and pens (I think I took out the pen?!) YAY going to have hot water tonight (from the shower and not a bucket ) I can wash my scalp (Make a foam crown and pretend I'm the queen) Mr Athy can have a snifter of Carling ONLY Thank you for posting this blog post http://narrowboatstarcross.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/up-stove-shots.html?m=1 I got a chimney brush and I was bashing away but I couldn't work out how to take the top bit out to remove ash. 16. Hello Mr Peterboat. I would love for that to happen, but not if you are to far away or if it is a inconvenience to you. Rather have you safe and looking as handsome as ever I'd happily pay the costs of fuel and food, but I don't want you to tired to drive.
  17. You lot do know that I have taken everyone's names on this thread and put them in my book of 'People to shake my fists at' Everyone that is except for Nightwatch (he gets to do the steps of doom! Thank you all for looking out for me. You make me feel warm and squishy, like a trifle that has been left out for a few days
  18. Just been off to Waitrose for some Olive oil. Anyone know where Mr Nightwatch is I was hoping to slow roast him on a open fire covers in a Lambrini and Ribena sauce (because he's worth it) Virgin keeps eating all my money (the money I ain't got) Not moved yet as I'm waiting on a mechanic or someone close to it. Apparently weird things aren't supposed to come out of my whole (no chimney yet) I think I may have opened some gate way to the other side while trying to clean my chimney. Think it would be easier to get a new stove as it has a shelf which won't allow me to clean out the chimney properly Upload pics tonight, pups got a fancy new harness (like the one Harry the S***** wears) cats have the best room on the boat still As I have to sleep with the pup (my snuggle buddy) till we both get better tinkle time control. I would like to know how to work a lock if anyone is free. I may or may not have a spot at Lower Park Marina and a couple Who really helped me out with the boat said I could travel up with them when they go in November (if I have a place) So I would like to be able to work the locks and do my share of the work. If anyone has a free moment I could ply you with lettuce, alcohol or Greggs..... Maybe cat hair. I miss Nightwatch I slipped on his steps of doom and broke my bottom in at least 148 places. I shall never Play the harpsichord again PS My paint is dry (mostly)
  19. What a handsome chap. He's not sleeping, just mediating
  20. Yes Mr PaulG. I love my pets and want them to stay. Off to get my bits and bobs
  21. Never saw a temp gauge in the engine. Moving the boat to the 14 spot tomorrow so that may help my engine. Hope this is my last cold night.
  22. Spiders! Honestly I am afraid of them and if anyone told me about how many and what sizes they come in is still be renting a council flat. Never be afraid to knock on someone's boat and ask for help. People have been so kind Clean out the boat first before moving in. It will help with the 'Ick' factor and make moving in less stressful
