  7. Arthur you talk good sense and thank you. I've got to say I love living aboard and hope I too will have no reason or need to talk to the crt for anything other than a new licence. Cheers. To answer that question 'No', boating should be enjoyed with basic clear guidelines but their not clearly explained by Crt in basic layman's terms to new boaters. Tony I just want to boat freely like anyone else and enjoy the good life :-).
  8. Thank you very much kieth it's falling down now at 13.1 amps, the engine has been running for about 3 hours and the SOC is 100 so what I gather the SOC is not to be trusted at all.
  9. I must start less threads. I am very norty.

  10. I will try the search more often and I totally understand whare your coming from with people answering the same old questions and getting board. Cheers Mike You assume right engine is running at the time kieth.
  11. Fair enough Mike but I am lazy and I like to talk to people. Haha Well at least I am honest. That search function never works on my phone for some reason. Appreciate everyone's help though. Scared of doing another thread now. Blush
  12. Will this do the job if so I will get one fitted properly. ? http://www.cactusnav.com/merlin-smartguage-battery-monitor-p-11874.html
  13. Right ive read the manual the victron battery monitor is showing 13.53volts 59.3 Amps at 87.3 SOC. I know it's been said this is not accurate but it's all I've got until the man comes to look at the boat. Thank you CT I wonder that now lol.
  14. Right then today my first job is to read the manual on the victron meter, it's got to be done. (Not more putting it off) Looks for it now, back later everyone. Because I had not spoken to anyone at that time and we're clueless. Lol Does that answer you Paul lol
  15. I hope Dan Brown did not loose interest in his videos on boat tilly just because other people started doing the same. He's a nice innocent lad but I also found him a bit much ott but quite interesting. Good luck Dan what ever your doing.
  16. Thank you Tony, I think a smart gauge is a must then, I've been turning the engine off as soon as I saw 100 SOC. I will let my dad read what you've written about open wet cell batterys. Really appreciate your help Tony. Lots for me to learn and catch you up Richard I never expected it to be so complicated. How much are decent Smart Gauge Monitors ? A link would be ace. :-) Cheeky so and so I am. We 'were' looking at Numax Marine/Leasure Paul.
  17. Thanks Arthur for explaining it simply, CRT for a newbee like me is like the highway code book with bits missing. Cheers
  18. Thanks for the advice cuthound I try to moor near other boats if possible, I am glad my bike was not on the back though. Rotten eggs. I like being in the Wop Wops. < great word for middle of no where.
  19. Owe it was only a few quid but it's not the point really they must be desperate people, i was near a main road maybe I should of expected it. Lol I put the alarm on when I go to bed now. Sounds like you were lucky too, it's so easy to forget the side hatch bolts. May the tea leafs stay away. Rotten Swine heads. Me too, never can tell who's got money on here hey cuthound. Sorry it happened to you too patty, that made me laugh about the excersize matt, good idea marking stuff up with a magic pen. Like you say things get nicked it happens. If you find your fenders patty maybe the police will let you give them 30 lashes. Lol
