  1. I think Mr T D has a very good point and reasonable is handing over sick notes, keeping them up to date.....which is what you have done so far. You have the law and reasonable on your side, what do they have? What is their argument? Try not to get stressed about it it won't help you. Personally I would put a letter of complaint in. Good luck with it all, I for one would be interested about how they deal with this - hope that doesn't seem too imposing.
  2. Ha ha, now I understand a section 13, thanks for that! :-)
  3. Yep sorry got that wrong, doh! What he said was correct, however, I do believe a houseboat should be only refered to as one of them floating boxes, if it has an engine it moves so unfair to long term moorers.
  4. Is it the boat or person that is licenced? All a bit pointless really me thinks. If your a livaboard its classed as a houseboat, when did that happen? Anyone on here got a brick boat? :-$
  5. That's it let it all out. Try not to take it personally. :-) Keep smiling it'll be sorted, don't think they can ignore doc note but they might ask you to get a mooring if your illness continues. Get well soon. :-)
  6. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  7. Don't mind help but keep a close eye on volunteers now since they opened the top paddles first; seweraged me pants
  8. All for a bit of education. The only marina I have had dealing with had a natural entrance and you didn't need a licence if you were moored in there as it was private water so I believe the NAA wasn't applicable there. I try and avoid marinas as a rule. Thanks for the information.
  9. Darn right there Mr M the B, and extremely unprofessional for an organisation.
  10. Very true, but sometimes its not clear cut, like constructive dismissal.
  11. Unless marinas have received planning permission for residential boaters then you do not have to pay council tax. However, a lot of marinas do not and to get around this legality, the marina owner has the opportunity to move boats around and this stops charges. Some marinas don't have many facilities, this is taken into account too. The council generally target people on benefits to pay council tax if you are on a mooring, this can be resolved by going to the valuation office agency. One councils rules may well differ greatly to another.
  12. Fortunately, in court you have to be seen as acting reasonably; if CaRT adopt this tactic they could improve the organisation dramatically and put money received to better use. However, at the moment unfortunately they are a dictatorship, in my experience.
  13. I'll vote for no confidence, they are destroying the canals. Is this a new era of no livaboards allowed thanks?
  14. That's a shame to hear, as boaters or lovers of the Canal we should unite and helping people to understand it doesn't have to be abusive. If we were more like a community (like it felt in the days gone by) we would have more of a say. CaRT have the power and they will use it, it's our job to get them to act positively with boaters, but this will never happen if we can't interact positively with each other.
  15. Hi and thanks for the welcome Mr M the B. Being the first time on a forum am getting a feel for it first before I dare divulge all my sewerage.
  16. In my experience if you question them or their authority, you'll be a marked man or just too irrelevant a being to answer; as CaRT answer to no one unless they are forced to by a Judge! Very sad.
