  1. What sort do you have? I am looking for a small one to fit in my bathroom
  2. I am very interested to hear from people who have a composting toilet. My issue is that I am getting older and am working out ways to ensure I stay living on my boat. If I get a bit infirm carrying my Thetford to the dispaosal may prove difficult. Kind neighbours have offered to do the job but that IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Filling my water tank etc is but not dealing with my s..t ! I have friends with gardens who would happily compost it for the required amount of time then use it on their flower beds (not recommended for vegetables I believe). As it will probably cost about £700, including the installation with the ventilator I would value peoples experience with them.
  3. I cannot help with the technicalities as everything was installed on my boat when I bought her 10 years ago.Just wanted you to know that my Morso Squirrel runs two radiators and goes through the calorifier without a pump. The stove is towards the bow end and the calorifier in the stern. I have to occasionally top up up the little header tank.
  4. I found that the double skin chimney didn't last and is expensive. Instead I use a standard single skin one with a liner, referred to as 'skins' from smokie joes here is the link http://www.smokiejoes.co.uk/skins/6/skin.html costs about £13 and may not last more than one or two winters but still cheaper than the expensive double skin chimneys that lasted about the same time. I don't get the stains down the side of my lovely paint job either.
