  1. Been to sawley, Mercia and kings Bromley. Bromley has my vote because it provides what I want, small, quiet, parking right next to the boat. Mercia, was very well run and compliments to its superb management. Sawley, just never felt the management understood boaters or respected their customers.

  3. Some hire boats and private boats I have seen have the front as a fixed double. I would never buy one but others probably love them. All down to individual taste. I have moved from cruiser to semi trad in terms of like but not enough to sell up, yet! Ducks as swmbo throws windlass!
  4. Agree with the noise, we had a muffler fitted to the pump and it's fine now, just a bit of dull noise as it whirls into action, although I don't hear it if I asleep - so I am told lol. Would be easy to sound proof it.
  5. Position of the solid fuel stove is great. Not going down the toilet route. You could look at how to get a larger bottle in but as you say, there are compromises. We had heating fitted after the winter before last when the cold was crucifying but our stove was well forward. I would say a great boat at a good price. My only words of wisdom would be get it blacked more often if you can afford it and have a GI fitted if in close vicinity to other boats. I hope to see you out and about!

  9. Nice looking boat, cannot see too much needed to make it liveaboard friendly. I see a radiator and guess it is gas heated given the space for four gas bottles. 1990 build date is not an issue either, given mine is a 1990. You will want, I guess, a full steel survey at least -your insurers may well require one given the boats age. Not much needed, iny view, to liveaboard with just the stove, which I do love. I would not spend anymore on it until I have lived on it for a while Nice looking boat
  10. Paintbrush? Seriously though, so long as the primer takes, test a bit, you should be fine
  11. I would say separates but check out available space or what you want to allocate.

  14. Quite right, cost quoted would be for 57 ft boat. I pay £2,300 for my mooring in a marina. I have access to water, electricity, quality mooring, pump out and diesel and a small chandlery, space for my car and the relative security. So I would save £250 and forego the services quoted, that's how I came to the conclusion, in my case, that the winter mooring cost is relatively high.
  15. Annualised value of £2,052. I think that is high when compared to say a marina where you get all the added services
  16. Hi, Around £2,500 with three rads, webasto and all pipe work. A 7 day timer costs a little more. We are having a remote sim unit fitted which allows control via my iPhone so it's warm when I get to the boat and I can turn on if it freezes, latter is a back up as I have fitted a cold temp auto switch. It was an easy fit but the main cost was labour, make sure you have the pump muffler fitted as the pump can make a racket.
  17. Pretty easily with lots of choices and options. We chose to by a Webasto diesel heater which was fitted in the engine ole. We then had the pipes and Rads fitted, pipes exposed and and the electrics installed. We did consider other alternatives like a back boiler on the stove or direct from engine but the webasto won.
  18. Just checked the sim only plan I quoted DOES include tethering, but only 4gb allowance.
  19. Three still do a sim only all you can eat data plan for £20 a month and this also gives you 600 minutes and all you can eat texts, watch out as MMS costs on a 12 month contract. I have only just checked this so its up to date. The 1 month contract equivalent is £23 per month
