  1. Obviously it will be 'fitted' as its a road vehicle opposed to a boat, I'm interested to hear how people on here have theirs fitted, better still if they did it themselves and picked up any useful tips as they did it, don't however require any DIY legal eaglethank you, the net is overrun with would-be lawyers which brings me to here as I've seen common sense in the past
  2. Couple of things a few of you might be able to help me on then; installation, flexible hose (like a domestic) and cabinet lining in insulative material? Just general question prior to be looking at this option seriously, please don't get bogged down in the legal side of this, as nearly all the caravan/MH threads appear to have quickly done so. I *might* do some of the legwork myself then leave the gas to a grown-up it can kill me after al thanks
  3. Hi, I'm essentially a lurker here although sort of interested in narrowboats its a technical question on ovens I'm asking today. I guess some of you have these installed but I was wondering if you have normal domestic size or the smaller sort you might see in a motorhome or caravan, as its these I need a little advice on (I come here as many of the things you do translate to smaller lifestyle in campers just as well) and anyway I like the banter over here
  4. Quite a lot under a search for 'boric acid in rain' its the same element that erodes limestone in aquifers I believe so might be as well to collect>boil>consume also quite rightly mentioned earlier, water from reservoirs is treated before it reaches your tap, and in my case interestingly if my hands become wet working outside, fencing or something else on the field, the next few days my fingertips will split and make it difficult to type for example, but I can take any amount of showers/baths/washing & buckets of tap water and wash the car with out effect, so something is evidently different

  10. Hébergeur d'images Right just checking before I pass it on, http://postimage.org/ go here, use their browse button to select an image from PC, host it and collect the link they offer you at bottom I think I chose the 'hotlink for forum' option for the above, but try one till you find what you like then just paste the link in the reply box here, along with any text to accompany image
  11. Elsewhere a comment or remark that seem unpleasant or juvenile is removed a mod might add a little comment to justify this. further juvenile posting usually causes a temporary-permanent ban, no need to close/remove a thread entirely though seemingly

  16. Couple of things (from a non-boater here) our of interest, what might the special preparations be to a narrowboat to attempt open water, and what might have been the video I saw some years back somewhere of someone on channel crossing ta

  19. Zig zag was concerned at being thought a perv, but His avatar features a man in a rubber outfit, now I'm confused
  20. Actually having it removed seems a temporary measure, I rang to complain after the same message popped up and prevented me visiting a camping vehicle site, http://demountablecampergroup.com/search.php?search_id=active_topics spoke to someone there who said it "just does it from time to time" they unchecked the box their end but it was back again a few weeks later so it seems just keep trying it and depending o n its mood it does or doesn't.....

  22. I thought as a concept it was alright TBH, plus the added benefit of A; originality B; not that moronic Northerner declaring everything "cool" after all, in the same way we point and laugh at the catwalk of the fashion world, inventors ideas find their way into our homes and become everyday mainstream if they are any good.
  23. Grand designs, wow I'd forgotten that disastrous boat, I think it did the rounds off south coast marinas after being shunned as too ugly to moor up alongside. While I liked the inventors ideas, its more of a test-bed for ideas, Tom has a tame fabricator alongside him like George C to put his ideas into English
  24. OK, I knew I'd seen a thread recently on Genny's I have a Honda which I used to power drills and saw and stuff, but now I need (smaller/quieter) model to charge leisure battery when not on hook-up my honda is a 650W so I was thinking same sort of outputbut quieter and the UK plug one of course.....
