  2. I vaguely remember when Mick Sivewright was building his Owl class narrowboats, the small bathroom/toilet area was built as a wetroom. I do remember having a look round one of his and the sink was a small pull down arrangement as in some small caravans, there was an Elsan and duckboards over the floor through which the water drained via a shower pump. Whether the flooring was GRP I don't know.
  3. Thanks John, I knew someone would come along more expertise and knowledge than I have.
  4. Have you tried a chimney liner, these can usually be obtained in different sizes from most chandleries.
  5. It always surprises me how resilient an animal can be. Thank goodness Hagan is safe if not sound. Hope his wounds are not too bad.
  6. Since this topic appears to be going nowhere and just causing arguments with some ill feeling I have locked it.
  7. I do think this subject should end now it is going nowhere.
  8. You could try Wilsons, I know they are in Kinver Staffs, but would I think travel to measure make and fit, or if not then they would possibly be able to suggest someone. Here.
  9. So glad things have been sorted for you Doreen, although I initially mentioned Otherton I think it was Peter (wyeman) who gave you the phone number. We have passed Otherton on many an occasion and they always seem to have a few vacancies. I think they keep some free for last minute winter moorings.
  10. Another couple of places you may wish to try are Anderton Marina tel: 01606 79642 and Orchard Marina tel: 01606 42082. Although neither are cheap both have all facilities, though Orchard has only a narrow entrance making it a little difficult to manouver in at times with a full length boat.
  11. Sorry, thought we were talking about battery management systems not inverters.
  12. I wouldn't think so. Richard Johnson from Matrix is an electrical engineer who goes around the country advising and fitting electrical systems etc in narrowboats. I really don't think he has any axe to grind, just explained both systems and fitted the one we chose. We still have the Heart Interface connected to nothing, since we did not want any modification to the alternator. (I won't go into details about the alternator in this case, it's a bit of a sore point)
  13. Martin, When we bought our boat a Heart Interface battery management system had been fitted, not knowing much about these things at the time we didn't know that the alternator has to be modified for this particular one. After some problems we spoke to Rob at Venetian Marine who put us in touch with Matrix controls at Wheelock. After some discussion we had an Adverc installed, much easier and no modifications to the alternator.
  14. You can see and read all about them Here
  15. Just checked and you are up to 42.
  16. Hi and to the forums. Can't help with the choice of colour I'm afraid since we've always had green in various shades. Bernie.
  17. Sadly I didn't at the time, the person was the 'Senior' of the area. With hindsight I should have written to BW at Watford, but I didn't.
  18. Does this answer the question? I'm Only A Cat I'm only a cat, and I stay in my place... Up there on your chair, on your bed or your face! I'm only a cat, and I don't finick much... I'm happy with cream and anchovies and such! I'm only a cat, and we'll get along fine... As long as you know I'm not yours... you're all mine!
  19. We have just receved our notification from BW for our Mooring Fees which are due at the end of December, over a £200 per year rise. Not bad when you consider that even though the moorings are behind locked gates there are no facilities and although the grass is mown twice a year by their contractors the overall upkeep is due to the moorers. Since the year 2000 we have asked for the site to be dredged due to silt and have 1) been promised this 2) been told it is in the 3 year plan 3) been told it is in the 5 year plan 4) been told that if we don't like it we can always move I may say these comments were all made by the same person. Earlier this year we were told that we are going to be 'hoovered' and that water and electricity is going to be supplied to the site. None of which seems to be forthcoming. Promises, promises, I won't hold my breath.
  20. In our previous boat we had a Morso Squirrel stove and applied a hammered copper surround with a tiled hearth using ordinary ceramic tiles. Despite the fact that we were told the heat would crack them it never did. They never appeared to get too hot, well heat rises. All were still in as good as new condition when we eventually sold the boat.
  21. You beat me to the answer Stuart.
  22. and welcome to the board Richard and Eugene, we are not a bad lot and I'm sure we won't give you too much grief.
  23. Could be that new batteries are needed. We had a similar problem last year, the batteries were charging OK but not holding the charge. We bought 3 new service batteries and all returned to normal.
  24. Since we've never taken a cat with us when cruising afraid I don't have any tips but take a look here. http://www.mike-stevens.co.uk/aboutme/cats/catafloat.htm it might be of some help.
