  1. Actually the judge said: "This was a serious yacht crewed by serious people in a regatta for a serious purpose. It was well equipped in terms of experience and ability to deal with any situation. "This was not some Saturday afternoon jaunt by some inadequate vessel crewed by inexperienced, clueless and foolhardy people who frankly have no business being on the water at all.
  2. OK, I have just cashed in one of my pensions at the ripe old age of 55. Ihave no intention of retiring until I am at least 67. I now have a tax free lump sum of £62500 to spend on a boat. Do I go for a bespoke new build or buyx one on need of some TLC. Opinions please.
  3. On the other hand, there are an awful lot of not nice boat owners out there too.

  6. Why not install ticket machines on Visitor moorings. Enter boat registration number, display ticket on boat, valid for 24 hours. Volunteer wardens just need to check tickets. If no ticket is displayed fine is logged. I do know that CRT is not at present allowed to issue fines/penalties, but I am sure that the day is not far off when they or an agency on their behalf will.
