  1. You could try Steve @ Midway Boats - Barbridge Junction, he seems to have plenty of good linear moorings
  2. The Link is not working, everytime I click on it I get the Tax payers Alliance! :-(
  3. Not sure about the biggest but the Rochdale Canal at Boarshaw (Just behind the cemetry) has very large stocks of good sized tench, I have had some great early morning sessions there catching 5 or 6 tench upto 4lb - all in a couple of hours on bread / pellets, just for good measure there are a number of big bream here too!
  4. Sign-Up Pleasure craft have always been allowed to buy "red" diesel i.e. fuel dyed for identification with a lower tax status than DERV (Diesel Engined Road Vehicles). This fuel is available for off-road,agricultural and industrial uses. Canal boats and pleasure craft are non-road users of diesel fuel, often operate on a limited budget, and should not be subjected to this inappropriate taxation. Reverse the decision to stop the sale of "red" diesel for pleasure craft. Deadline to sign up by: 19 October 2007 – Signatures: 14
  5. I just learned how to upload the pictures.... Heres the Carp That I got! - 17LB
  6. I just thought I should share with you my quest to catch the fish that kept snapping my lines.... 3 weeks ago I was doing a spot of fishing of the back of my boat, I was using the top 3 sections of my fishing pole and caught a lot of small roach & a few skimmer bream, my float dissapeared and i hooked in to a much bigger fish, the fish took off, the elastic in the pole extended to the other side of the canal and then my hook length line snapped. A week later I decided to step up my tackle just in case I hooked the monster again, sure enough my float dipped and the monster was on, I played it for around 15mins (It seemed much longer than that though), Eventually the hook pulled out - I never even saw the fish!, This week end I was on a mission, I decided to target the fish and stepped up my tackle once again, again my float dipped, I lifted into the fish and played it for around an hour before I even saw it, My wife had the net and this time I managed to land it, a lovely 17lb Common carp!

  8. You can get them from TRACKWORK Limited In Doncaster, Not sure of the number though, it may be cheaper to get sections of railway line instead though.
  9. I got mine from Fastline Limited - 0161 819 6723, They have it in large tins (25Ltrs) and its about £36 + vat
