  12. Its the condensation freezing i was wondering about.I will be useing her over winter on the odd sunny weekends.Have taken sensible steps regarding the water supply etc.I do have shore power available but not keen on leaving plugged in with heaters on as it seems a gross waste of resources, plus concerns of galvanic problems....If i turn up to boat and light stove to warm boat over the weekend then shut her up for a week or two am i to expect pools of condensation and lumps of ice when i return? Ian
  13. Am i to assume as a none liveaboard i can expect to have ice inside boat over winter? Ian
  14. I want to fit a couple of spotlights inside our boat.I have seen various threads here on useing items from ikea etc which with transformer removed can be plugged to 12v system.1st question does this just mean simply chopping the wires to remove transformer then wireing to a 12v plug? Secondly which is best, running 12 or 240v as far as battery power useage? I have both power outlets available but would prefer to use 12v sockets as they happen to be handily placed and are never used for any other devices. Cheers, Ian.
  15. Thanks Martin, existing tiles are secure but apparently the wrong colour...so im told...i shall give it a go then, Cheers.
  16. I am intending to retile our nb bathroom, only a few around sink.It would be easy to fix the new tiles on top of those already in place, has anyone here any experience of how well they would adhere? Suggestions on best adhesives? cheers, Ian
  17. My boating neighbour has had his narrowboat for 6 weeks. When he brought her i looked over her with him and explained a couple of things.Anyway he mentioned this morning that the boat had begun to smell,i had a quick look at obvious things and his pump out loo was full to the neck.He thought pump out was automatic...have now sorted that.Boat is a bit pongy and had a quick look at bilge inspection hole and he had some water in it,now pumped out probably only a coupla pints..Bilge was dry when i looked over boat with him last month so im guessing the pump out loo has leaked where it was full around the neck.So all drained now and cleaning liquid around bilge and redrained..Any opinions on this please? Ian

Also not tried yet but pretty sure i wont fit through inspection cover. Can it be done from the outside? Cheers, Ian.
