  1. Ah beat me too it. If you need any assistance drop me a PM
  2. You wont get to Leeds before xmas. There is no lock gates in Oddy Lock as they are being replaced. Stoppage is until 21/12 so if you need to be here best go the long way round. Sorry to be the barer of bad news Morgan
  3. The boat in question isnt in Leeds by any chance is it ?
  4. Not one to post very often but think I should here. Danny, Mark and Seline all work very hard to staff Newlay and Forge 7 days a week between the 3 of them. Its managment that stop them going the extra mile. The guy are hard workers and come rain or shine they will alway help. They dont have to they just need to observe and assist but 9/10 they will do all the work for you all you need to do it chug into the next chamber. Mark was telling me there was loads of bank staff about a few years ago now theres the 3 of them to control Granary to Rodley. The guys do start to lock up around 3 but if they know your coming they will always wait till 4. Anyways just thought I would put my 2 cent in Thanks Morgan Yorkshire Boats
  5. The York cafe is not for sale anymore or atleast i don't think it is. I was there only a month gone and there is a young couple on it now, guys called Jamie IIRC. The advert on apolloduck is from Febuary
  6. Hi Owen, as far as I know there isnt one between skipton and leeds but I am looking into running one next year. Where are you based I may be able to help Morgan YB
  7. Hey you two, I can beat that, I wont announce where I live in CD but think you two know. Anyways was awake at about 3am one morning a few months ago. Just stood on my balcony having my last few cigs whilst upstairs was having a argument. Next thing I know a Playstation 3 with all its wires attached went flying into the commercial pound swiftly followed by a xbox 360. Come to think of it i haven't seen "The Genral" as some call her this year, must be sat at the bottom playing COD online Morgan
  8. Baring in mind we used to be out several times a week it would have been a real ball ache getting BW to do a risk assessment then go for a cup of tea before retuning to open the bridge. It would take us over a hour just to get out of the dock and into Leeds lock. Still owned by Sharon, Richard. She just sub rents it out to Digital junkies. Short answer, No. Although there is a fair bit of work being done up here in Granary. Morgan YB
  9. Give me a call about boating in Yorks 07708 970083 Tone

  10. Nothing on Google. I officially don't feel like the odd one out now.
  11. Hello Mr Blue Sky, Can't PM you as its not enabled yet but if you haven't already set off I drive trip boats up and down the A&C if you require help or just someone on-board who knows the stretch get in touch I would be happy to help Morgan
  12. HA, finally its not just me. No one has ever believed me I could smell the furry little things. Always just thought it was me, could smell them in the back field if I was on back door step at night.
  13. First off sorry if this seems a strange topic. I have three years experiences at the helm yet this is only with two trip boats and a hotel boat all being wide-beams. I am looking to explore more of the waterways round Yorkshire and as I do not own a boat this is not possible at the moment, I would like to offer my services to anyone cruising the region whether it be helping with the locks or just coming along for the ride. My main goal is to spend time with small craft and narrowboats to further my experience. I presume they handle alot different to chimed widebeam craft. Many thanks and once again sorry for the random topic Morgan
  14. Hello and welcome to our forum . . .

  15. Hey Dean, Just to let you know when you arrive into Clarence dock moor on the starboard side as you enter as there is currently no power to the visitor moorings. Clarence dock has a fair bit to do from the armories to the casino and theres a handy Tescos aswell. Leeds city center is only a 5 minute walk away aswell. Theres a nice pub close by called the palace, if your in there at the right time theres a few local boaters in there usally around last orders. Grannary wharf is a strange one if i remember rightly they wanted to charge for over night stopovers although I think this has been sorted now. Can always play it safe and moor on the port side as you come out of river lock behind flyboat. Everyone else seems to so its a safe bet. Just leave pleanty of room behind her so I can get in and out. If you have enough time you can always cruise up to Rodley. You need to book passage through Oddy lock although I think the lock keeper will be back on duty then. If you need anything whilst in leeds let me know as I'm in Clarence dock myself. hope this helps a bit Morgan
