  5. just spoke to C&RT and the said the river went up again this morning and will be closed for the rest of the day and will be reviewed again tomorrow.
  6. just like to add that if marina's didn;t charge extortionate rates for useing the facilities then maybe there wouldn't be so many CC'ers, i know when we moored at sawley we were paying around £3,000 a year. maybe this is the reason that so many marina's are out of pocket because of people leaving to find cheaper places to stay.
  7. if he didn't disclose where the boat was at the time of sinking let's just hope the insurance company don't want to see it in situ.
  8. just took a 12 mile round trip walk to arlewas took us just over 4hrs not bad seeing as it didn't rain, anyway i have video of the weir which is still in flood, wychnor gauge is well into the amber but arlewas gauge is 2" into the red running at about 4mph, LTM's are fine don't look like water went over the bank there seeing as grass is still green. not sure how to add video on here. found a site to upload this pic.
  9. we have used Euromarine for the last 20 years and are very good at paying out on claims as we found out when our boat was broken into a few years back, £3,000 is ok we have ours at £5,000 i would give them a ring, well worth it.
  10. the river levels have gone down at arlewas but the office wont tell us if it is passable they are just saying the whole of the trent is in flood, do's anyone know if there are boats going through today.
  11. we have had a few boats come past us that have turned around but quite a few have gone up towards arlewas this morning it must be chaos further up towards wychnor lock.
  12. well like you said BW wont tell you when you can pass but the current level is 2.89 and normal is between 1.02 metres and 2.04 metres so when it get's there it should be safe to pass.
  13. maybe you would like to look at this it's the level station at drakelow My link we are sat below branston lock and have been for 2 days now.
  14. we came through fradley junction last bank holiday and they had volunteers on the locks in the pouring rain, wonder how long that will last.
  15. thanks for that bruce, i rang and they said it's still in flood, not sure when it will be clear to pass, guess we just have to sit and wait, good job we are not in a hurry.
