  1. Hiya Just been to the water point at bridge 88. If you did leave them there they've gone now! Mick
  2. Kinver have just fitted a cratch cover and pram hood on my boat, I was very pleaased with the price, quality and service. They've recently fitted covers on at least 6 boats in my marina to my knowledge purely through recomendation.
  3. I would say it's very good depending on the quality. I've just made my own and the materials cost me £200.
  4. My greatest find to date around the prop is a fishing keep net! Deep joy!
  5. I've recently made my own cratchboard and had a cover fitted by Kinver Canopies. I'd never made one before but gave it a good bit of thought beforehand and including 6mm safety glass it cost me £200 for the materials for the board. The top plank is dovetailed both ends, so once the canvas is removed it knocks out, the front is fixed with two rising butt hinges so just slides off. In total it takes about 5 mins to remove the lot if i need to change the gas bottles (about twice a year), a small price to pay to pay for an extra "room".
  6. SueB It may do, but at present i don't intend going down that route, i'll survey the damage in the morning with a clearer head and make a decision. All the taps were open, the pump was switched off, so yes it syphoned the water through the pump.
  7. I didn't say i had shut the valve, if there is one (i'll check tomorrow) then that would have prevented the problem.
  8. Yes finding where the water went is the next thing, then getting rid of it! Strange;y enough the reason i came this week was to renew the carprts! so they're no great loss. Having had the boat 3 months, most of which we've been frozen in we've only had about 10 hours cruising so far! so it's been a hard introduction to boating so far.
  9. Thanks for that,I'll find out in the morning!
  10. During the recent cold snap i've done everything possible to prevent freezing pipes and flooding! (Our first boat and only had it 3 months) Left the water tank half full/empty, left the taps open and the water pump turned off. One of the problems on our marina has been the shower hose freezing and splitting, so when i left the boat two weeks ago i did all the above and left the shower hose hanging down into the tray, BIG mistake! The water tank is the same level as the shower tray! so when i arrived tonight i discovered the shower had syphoned the remaining contents of the tank and flooded the boat! I should have known better, lesson learned! Gutted!
  11. Good Topic DeanS I was about to start one similar! Sparkybaz
  12. Patronising? No Mirrors on your boat then!!
  13. A great advert for boating and Boaters eh? Or maybe you think you own the cut and don't want newbie's like me to join!
  14. If you knew me you'd know that i'm far from Pompous!! However people that know absolutely everything P++s me off big time!! What a clever Twat your are!!! Enjoy your fire!!
  15. What a great shame I thought i would join this website and gain a lot of knowledge and experience from genuine pleasant people. However a lot of the posts i've come acroos have been from big headed, bigoted, self opiniated, selfish and iresponsible boaters! Most topics turn into childish behaviour, and the girlish squabble between types of toilets (sorry girls) are unbeleivable! Our intention was to retire in the next few years and spend more time on the boat, if we're going to end up as a couple of bitter and twisted old boaters, analising and critisiing everything and everybody every minute, everyday, then maybe it's not for us!! I won't be returning, i'd rather learn from experience!
