  1. Oh god, you must live miles away from any supermarket, with heavy locks and vandals (as would anyone else on the GU according to the article )
  2. May would be good as the light nights are in, but I couldn't do the 7/8th

  4. Ideal place would seem to be the Green Dragon; it has a garden, it backs onto the canal so plenty of room to spill out, but... it is closed at the moment and being refurbished, They have extended out the back (eating area?), new roof going on and are due to re-open in March. Hopefully it will carry on with it's traditional ales. Jo phoned them and they were keen to have us She may be able to give more details. The Green Man has good beer (Green King IPA & Cumberland Ale wre both good :hic: forgot what the other beer was ) and pub food (nothing special but good for the price), downside is it fills up with the football croud on a Saturday leaving little space for others. There is plenty of mooring within a few yards of either pub so looks good. For Banter records this can be declared as a mini banter With Jo & Wynne, David "Grace & Favour" & Josi, myself and my mate John (a local boater) in attendance PS I'll keep popping back to try the Green Dragon when it opens

  9. @Mods My view on this.. When we join up to any forum we are accepting the rules of that forum, we are also required to adhere to requests made by moderators. You are moderators, you step in when you think necessary and if we don't agree with your decision then we should be able to ask a senior member of staff (in this case Daniel) to re-asses the decision.

  14. ...the Green Dragon was having some building work done on it's frontage a couple of weeks ago. Anyway it also has a garden out front which may be good on a nice day, both the Dragon and the Green Man do good ale @ally it would be great to bump into you after missing you at Loughborough

  17. Yes. External 3G Aerial - 3G Dongle - Router - Multiple PC's
  18. Here is a link to the Edimax website that is also listed on the Maplins page, it incudes power requirements. This has a LAN port too so you could plug one of the computers directly into it.
  19. AS the aerial come from outside to the dongle inside via cable there will be no issue there, as far as the wireless connection inside is concerned the metal box just reduces the strength of signal going outside, it should not affect the usage inside the box. You could even change the routers built in aerial for a directional one that sends the signal down the length of the boat Funny enough I have a custome who uses a converted shipping container as an office
  20. from what I can see (also mentioned above) the outside aerial will need to be plugged into the dongle. Then the dongle can be plugged into a 3G router (Zoom and Edimax do these) Maplins link then you may connect many PC's via wireless to the router.
  21. Breakfast was served just below the marina at Kingswood last time

  24. Here is the scenario... We are looking to sell up and buy a boat, we have decided that it may be beneficial to have the first year or so in a mariana and to that end we have been out visiting local marinas. We know that "residential" moorings are like hens teeth so have been looking at "long term leisure moorings"; some say that as long as you spend x amount of time away then they will leave you to get on with it but one we visited said they require an address of your primary residence. One thing to do (I believe it has been mentioned in other threads too) is to use an address of a relative or similar, now I don't have a problem doing this but wondered what possible implications (if any) there are in doing this either to myself or the person who allows me to use their address? Thanks in advance
