Not wanting to start another thread I thought I would tag onto the end of this one.

We need our engine 'ole painting.

I have become, through no fault of my own you understand, the wrong shape for getting into the 'ole for this purpose. My good wife did it last time but can't bring myself to allow her to do it again. (She didn't do it properly anyhow).

What is the approximate cost of having this done? How long is a piece of string?

Engine bays are alot of work and not easy, I think whoever does it wont be in a good mood at the end of the job. So get a fixed quote if you can!

Yep. We always prefered to take the engine out to do the job properly. It's a tricky place to clean. And,the chap or chappess that paints it may not be the painter. It's a difficult one.

I'm in the process of painting my engine bay/bilge, but there is a layer of slimey crud on the floor, would a wet and dry hoover be any good to clean it up so it could dry out ready for painting?
