Bullfrog
Now I expect a few of us will want to know how effective it is and over what timescale. So I applied it this weekend. 1st I mopped the boat down with tap water and spot of detergent then I let it dry in the sun and a bit of breeze that was blowing. I was only doing the cabin sides ' cos I'm going to put non-slip on the roof later on. Thanks to Gary's link I found one sentence that said the product could be applied either with a soft cloth or a brush - I chose to use a 3" brush. The liquid has a consistency somewhere between water and cooking oil, so it goes on very easily with no brush marks. Because it is a clear fluid I could just paint straight over the coach lines with no masking or anything. The brushes cleaned afterwards with hot water and detergent. I attach some pics to show the results. It takes up to 8 hours to dry, so it was still tacky to touch when we had to drive home, but was already impervious to the rain shower that came on. I was delighted with the results so far. If it lasts through this year i will be more than pleased at the improvement in the boat's appearance for the expenditure of £18 a litre (and I've still got 1/2 left) and a couple of hours labour. David Now the pix - before I started, Blakes enamel, exactly 3 years old this weekend looks quite faded and chalky. Just started down one side you can plainly see how the paint has returned to it's original darker colour and is now glossy. Finished job - well pleased Edited 'cos I got the Image-shack links wrong Edited March 10, 2008 by Bullfrog

BlueStringPudding
And can Polytrol be painted over at a later date?
Bullfrog
And can Polytrol be painted over at a later date? Good question ! I would expect it to be cut back during prep for any re-paint. I personally will be trying another coat of Polytrol first! David
