Anodes

Featured Posts

Hi all,

We're going to be getting the "family" narrowboats out of the water soon, as in mine and my parents... and my question is, what size/weight Anodes will we need? My boat is 30ft and has about 20 inches draught. My parents boat is 50ft and has about 2ft 4 draught.

Thanks in advance.

I would usually fit 4 x 1.5 Kg to a 30' boat, and either 4 x 3.5 or 2 x 2.8 and 2 x 3.5 to a 50 footer (depending on what it looks as though it 'needs', a fairly subjective measurement  )

Not sure it really matters does it? Bigger ones last longer, thats about it?

- Last time we had four 2kg anodes. But this time they only had 1.5 and 2.5.

- 2.5's are cheaper per weigh, but didnt fit inside in the bow defelctors, so we've ended up with 2*2.5 + 2*1.5 anodes.

The hull should be painted all over anyway....
