As liveaboards for eighteen million years one bit of advice re " Downsizing " You DO NOT need storage!! Its all CRAP that we moved around for years before realising that fact. Today there is Ebay etc or give it away or skip it. The stuff you put in storage will never see the light of day again so you realy have no use of it. Its like a comfort blanket but you simply dont need it. Life on a boat is totaly removed from what you thought was a life previously

We are down sizing a vast majority of our stuff even before moving on board the storage will give us a buffer to able to down size further as we go along. We do have a teenage daughter to contend with, but also a couple of hobbies requiring a bit of extra room.

We have just started on the loft  next stop daughters room?

Really looking forward to getting on board now and getting rid of that extra crap we dont need.

Goodo. I think the main problem for many people and I would consider myself in that group is that they realy dont understand how big a lifestyle change it is completely moving aboard. Lots do it for say six months in the summer but toddle off to land usualy for the winter months which is of course fine but a total liveaboard commitment for many years is something completely different. We moved aboard our first boat in 89 and for years humped all manner of crap around until we eventualy realised that it was from a different lifestyle. As 24/7 365 live aboards we now have and for several years now have less stuff even on our roof than most hobby boaters, we simply dont carry stuff. No boxes etc etc its all just crap. If its not stowable in the boat we simply dont need it. It did take years though to fully understand this. As for teenage kids KICK EM OUT :D
