Sharkey80
Hi, I'm currently refitting a 37ft narrowboat. The boat was custom built and the engine is slightly out of line with the propeller, so they've put a mechanism in to compensate. This has now snapped and my mechanic doesn't recognise the make or type of part we need. He's gonna try and weld it but doesn't know if will be strong enough. I don't know alot about engines but apparently it's the output shaft. Any ideas where we will find one, or anyone know who might make one? Any help greatly appreciated. Bod
Whats the make and model of the gearbox? Bod
alan_fincher
I find the description quite confusing. Unless I'm completely misunderstanding the snapped part looks internal to the gearbox to me, not some additional part added to correct a misalignment with the prop shaft, (which can't anyway be achieved by anything solid, surely?). Can you explain further please? And, as suggested above, what make and model of gearbox is it?
