having a engineering buissness i use paint on steel all the time if you go to pdi paint in stoke they will give you advise , mix paint to any colour or ral specs you want ,all for steel i use a lot of quick drying paint , hope this helps regards kev

I found this Vespa website where people post photos of their Vespas painted in RAL colours. It's still in screen so not accurate, but I found it helpful to get an overall impression rather than relying on a small colour card.

I buy Hempel yacht enamel and use it around the house on window ledges and the like, instead of a household oil-based gloss. It costs twice as much but it flows beautifully, levels off nicely and is much harder and glossier.

 

It wouldn't be economical for a cabin roof, however. I would use Weathershield, assuming it's still oil-based.
