Shroppie to the Weaver

I'm stuck at home and have left all my planning books on the boat as usual. So a quick question, can one come out of the end of the Shroppie and traverse the Mersey up to the Weaver? If so it will give me a great loop to do. Probably a well known answer to that but I'm stuck at the moment.

Ummmm, the Shroppie doesn't have a junction with the Mersey, but the Manchester Ship Canal. Yes, you can come out of the shroppie, turn right, go past Shell etc then turn right to get onto the Weaver. BUT you'll need to have the paperwork sorted out to go on the MSC, the swing bridge at Ellesmere Port boat museum booked, and the lock at the start of the Weaver booked too.

Yes Ellesmere Port to the Weaver is a great trip, on the Manchester Ship Canal, with the advantage of no MSC locks so you don't have to pay a fortune. But you do need to comply with all the MSC regulations which means, amongst other things, that you need to get a surveyor to issue your boat with a "certificate of seaworthiness".
