Oh and last year while moored at Chapel, someone came down with traps to try to catch some of the mink......when we looked there was no bait in them. Probably why they are such good preditors if they live on fresh air :)

 

You've got to let them get used to a trap being there at first, they are very nosey so you start off with empty traps then when you're sure they've been in there (to have a snoop) you can start baiting it. They then see it as a source of food so go in regularly and that's when you 'set' it.

 

We haven't seen many this year but everyone has had them in their boats, well, everyone except us, Andy and Arthur but that's prob because we've all got NB's and they can't get in! :)
