Stratford on Avon Canal Headroom

Some of the gates on the Stratford are a little tricky.

I have just travelled the full length, and, apart from an interesting conversation with a householder outside Hockley Heath, it was a lovely trip.

We were moored outside her cottage behind a high hedge but she was insistent that she owned that section of towpath.

She wanted to know why we were ignoring the Police signs against mooring, unfortunately these signs were only in her world!

Hey ho, we just moved on.

I was talking about the Stratford canal Black Rose, the locks were in a bad state, never thought narrow locks could be so bad! I agree with you about the River Avon locks most are fine ( in unusually shaped in some cases!) some of the paddles are a little heavy but all manageable.
