Another barmy waste of money on signs is that spent on those that have started to appear at towpath access points warning fishermen of the dangers of overhead power lines. I'm not talking of the ones actually at places where lines are near or cross the canal, just at bridge holes and the like.

 

Surely it would be better (and may be done, for all I know) to alert anglers to the risks when they buy the long poles in the first place?
