Canal Museum - Stoke Bruerne - temporary closure

Some of you may be aware that the Canal Museum in Stoke Bruerne is closed at the moment (tea rooms and shop remain open - winter hours are Tuesday to Friday 11:00 to 15:00 and Saturday/Sunday 11:00 to 16:00.) for renovation.

 

Just in case you were planning to visit the proposed reopening date is Saturday 12-April-14.

Renovation, are they throwing out the rest of the old stuff and replacing it with new.

New lighting, new wiring, better insulated, new floors, etc - all the movable exhibits are off site under lock, key and camera. It is 99% empty. And of course all in line with its listed status which makes things challenging.
