Best Paint for Corrosion Prevention on Cabin

Hi All,

Just taken some roof lining down from our cabin and the shell could do with a good coat of Paint, I also need to blast and re-paint the exterior roof, so would an etch primer or the old red lead paint if still available be any good ?, or are there some specialist other products on the market ?

Zinc Phosphate metal primer is much better than red oxide.

The OP asked about red lead, which is way better than red oxide but hard to buy and really not a good idea to use for other reasons.

 

A lot of red oxide *is* zinc phosphate primer, you need to read the label to check.

 

Rustoleum do a 'red oxide' primer which I reckon is pretty good, 'Combi-prime' is what they call it, I believe.

Indeed TIm I was going to add is it REALLY red lead.
