Dudley Festival of Water and Light

The Waterfront in Brierley Hill will be brought to life with the sound of music on Sunday October 1 as the Dudley Festival of Water and Light celebrates well-loved musicals.

The Waterfront in Dudley has played host to Dudley Council’s hugely successful Festival of Water and Light for the past seven years. The 2005 event attracted over 12,000 people of all ages, to experience and participate in the many fantastic activities available. This year the council is working with Brierley Hill Regeneration Partnership, Westfield and various other partners to stage the event, which runs from 2.30pm-8.30pm.

The 2006 festival promises to be the biggest and best to date, with live music, a children’s funfair and more. A cavalcade of lit and decorated boats will take to the water in the early evening and the festival will be brought to a dramatic close by a firework display.

Event highlights for 2006 include:

• boat parade

• radio roadshows – Beacon and BRMB

• live bands and dancers

• craft and speciality market

• fun fair

• firework display
