ALTERNATOR/TRAVEL PACK

My electrical system consists of Travel Power(shall be called TP) giving 240v,150 amp Alternator to leisure batteries,70 amp Victron charger and 440 amp domestic battery pack. When running the engine and the TP is switched off and batteries are at float the alternator is showing 14.47 to 14.49.With TP switched on,the monitor (bmv 600s)shows 14.66 at float.Of course the charger is not employed when the TP is off.Does this appear to be correct.

If your alternator just has the usual built-in regulator then when the mains driven charger kicks in as well with TP running, it won't be allowed to pull the volts down to float with fully charged batteries.

This would normally be closer to 13.5 volts, but since the alternator will be supplying the higher fixed voltage it will remain close to that although slightly modified by the charger. This explains your findings although nothing to worry about.
