Francis signal lamp bulb

I have one of these Francis lamps and wonder if anyone knows of a alternate supply of bulbs as Francis want £40. I think present bulb is ok but its 24v and I would like 12v and its a straight swap over.

Former forum contributor John Orentas (happy birthday John) is an expert on Francis lamps so a pm in his direction may still get picked up.

 

My Francis searchlight had a pretty standard bus bulb type bayonet fitting but yours looks a tad more specialised and much sexier.

Try putting the lamp (bulb) specification into google.

Have you tried taking the bulb to a specialist vehicle electrics supplier? I had a similar problem with an ex police floodlight that had 100w bulbs which were impossible to find, so I took it along to one of these guys & found an equivalent bayonet fitting on an easily available 40w bulb. Still more than sufficient as a tunnel light & at least I don't blind anyone now!
