fuzzyduck
Then take a bit of advice from an expert... Tunnels are horrid, and eat windscreens. in fact canals are best avoided, rivers are the best place to be, preferably ones marked with "here be dragons" on Nicholsons guides. Nice to see more GRP represented on CWDF.

gazza
Hi Fuzzyduck, have come across your entries in other places, If I tell you that my cruiser is an Ormelite with a diesel engine you will appreciate why I was so pissed. Off topic ish, what motor has your ormelite got? A mate of mine has an ormelite called northern star with its original Stuart turner p55 two stroke, he is looking at a 3 cylinder Kubota to replace the poor old ST. Lovely boat with a very high standard off craftsmanship. Edited November 2, 2012 by gazza

Hi Gazza, Shapfell has the baby 2cyl Vetus (10 ish Hp?) 3 cyl Kubota would be more than adequate, The Vetus swings a 12" x 7 prop and gives plenty of power for canals, must admit sometimes nervous when tide running strongly but so far (touch wood) its been enough. I really like Ormelites, very sturdy and I believe one of the prettiest small cruisers ever.
