Trickle charging leisure batteries

Sealed batteries can be kept on float for years as long as you observe the manufacturers advice on float voltage which will be between 13 and 14v. Left like this the batteries will power the bilge pump and then get refreshed themselves as the charger cuts gradually in. Pick the wrong float volts and your precious cell electrolyte will be turned to gas and never come back.

IMHO once batts are fully charged a 5.00GBD 1 amp car/motorcycle trickle charger can be connected and left on to counter self discharge.

True as long as it does not push the voltage up too much
