ChrisPy
I am partially deaf and have been trying to track down what I thought was an engine alarm whistle that occurs between 1100 and 1500rpm on my Isuzu 55 fitted with a hospital silencer (Liverpool Boat Company). Finally discovered it isn't an alarm, it's a whistling exhaust. Anyone had a similar problem? Solutions?

A friends boat had a similar problem & he found a leak at the joint[ between pipe & silencer] & at certain revs the exhaust blowing through the lagging was making a whistling noise
ChrisPy
I don't think that is the issue. The whistle is definitely heard loudest at the outlet skin fitting and can be negated by partly covering it.
